Karim Dagher Claims Arab Teams Tournament Title with UAE Team

Lebanese darts player Karim Dagher achieved a major regional sporting milestone after winning the inaugural Arab Teams Darts Tournament 2025 as part of a UAE team in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt. The victory came during a major program of international, continental and regional darts competitions hosted in Sharm El-Sheikh from 9 to 14 December 2025. Organized by the Arab Darts Federation in cooperation with the Egyptian Darts Federation, the Arab Teams Tournament was created to bring together clubs, companies and independent teams from across the Arab world and the wider Middle East.

For Dagher, the title represented an important personal achievement and another significant step forward for Lebanese darts. Competing alongside experienced UAE-based players, he contributed to a successful team campaign that ended with the championship trophy.

From Lebanon’s First Egypt Open Appearance to a Regional Title

The victory followed Dagher’s historic participation in the Egypt Darts Open and Masters, where he became the first Lebanese player to compete in the international tournament.

While the Egypt Open provided valuable exposure to individual competition at an internationally ranked event, the Arab Teams Tournament offered a different test. Success depended not only on personal scoring and finishing, but also on supporting teammates, responding to changing match situations and performing as part of a unified group.

Winning the team title therefore marked an important progression from entering the international stage to standing on top of a regional podium.

It also demonstrated that Lebanese players can compete successfully within established regional darts environments when given access to structured tournaments, experienced teammates and regular high-level competition.

Although Dagher lifted the title with a UAE team, the achievement also carries significance for Lebanon’s developing darts community.

Lebanese darts remains at an early stage compared with more established sporting markets. However, participation in international tournaments is helping Lebanese players gain experience, establish regional relationships and understand the competitive and organisational standards required to develop the sport locally.

Dagher’s achievement highlights the value of cooperation between players and organisations across the Arab world. Regional tournaments provide emerging players with opportunities that may not yet be available in their home countries, while allowing them to contribute to the wider growth of darts in the Middle East.

The Arab Teams Tournament itself was introduced as a platform for unity, competition and sportsmanship between Arab clubs, companies and independent teams. Dagher’s involvement in the winning UAE team embodied that objective, showing how players from different backgrounds can compete together and succeed through a shared commitment to the sport.

Building Momentum for Lebanese Darts

The championship title represents another building block in the broader effort to develop organised darts in Lebanon.

Turning individual achievements into sustainable progress will require structured local competitions, player rankings, regular training opportunities and development programmes for youth, women and para-darts players. It will also require stronger connections with regional federations and tournament organisers.

International success can help create that momentum. Each Lebanese appearance increases visibility, encourages new players to participate and demonstrates that a pathway exists from local practice to regional and international competition.

For Karim Dagher, winning the Arab Teams Tournament is a landmark achievement and an important addition to his competitive journey. For Lebanese darts, it offers further evidence that the country has players capable of making an impact beyond its borders.

From becoming Lebanon’s first participant at the Egypt Open to lifting a regional team title, Dagher’s experience in Sharm El-Sheikh marked a memorable chapter for Lebanese darts—and one that can inspire many more to follow.
